Indigenous-Based In-Home Recovery

Our
Story

How We Got Here

This isn’t just a story of how we started a place — it’s a story of how we survived.

The road here was long. It was rough. It was filled with pain, addiction, relapse, loss — and then, slowly, recovery, growth, and hope.

We've walked through hell. We know what it's like to be stuck in that darkness, to feel like there's no way out, no one left, and nothing worth holding onto. But somehow, somewhere deep down, we kept going. We kept fighting. For ourselves. For each other. For a future we could barely see — but never stopped believing in.

If there’s anyone who knows the struggle of clawing your way out of the dark and into the light, it’s us.

We got here because I have a huge heart — maybe too big sometimes — and I’ve always wanted to help everyone around me. I couldn’t save everyone back then. But now? Now we’ve built something where we can help. Something real. Something solid. Something ours.

We’ve always had a vision: to open a place of our own. A space for women. A space for healing. For safety. For truth. We’ve learned from every place we’ve been — the good and the bad. And we took all of it — every lesson, every scar, every piece of wisdom hard-earned — and built something better.

This place is for the ones still struggling. The ones who feel alone. The ones who think there’s no way out. We see you. We've been you. And we’re here to walk with you into the light.

Because recovery is possible. Healing is real. And hope — hope is everything..

What We Do At Sister's In Recovery

Empowering Women Through Recovery

Sister's In Recovery is a woman's indigenous-based in-home recovery house located on Vancouver Island. We provide a safe space for women to begin their healing journey from substance abuse, mental health issues, and trauma. Our 30, 60 to 90-day intensive in-house stay includes trauma counseling therapy, yoga, outdoor activities, group counseling, nature walks, sex and addiction therapy, relationship counseling, and one-on-one counseling. We also incorporate indigenous practices like drum making, sweat lodges, smudging, ribbon skirt making, and connecting with elders as part of the community. Our goal is to attract women seeking support and to educate people about indigenous-based healing practices.

Women's Healing Stories

“The Healing Project provided me with the support and tools I needed to reclaim my life. I am forever grateful for their guidance and the community they have created.”
